how do you remove the stock antenna?
I don't use the radio and would like the smooth roofline

You just unscrew the antenna for these. It doesn't do anything with the base.

Found a suitable stubby antennae at Cartronixs in Parker Place Mall (Richmond, BC) for C$8.95 (including taxes).
Works great! Will post pic later.

If you do the fin route, I believe you have to remove the base. And I've never messed with the base.

Anyone have experience with the fins?

Genuine Toyota FTW. I already gave into their demands for an official JDM one.

I've got a fin. Love it. Radio works, but not great. Doesn't matter because I never use it. If you're in it for cosmetics more than functionality, I'd say get the fin. It works with the lines of the Yaris much better than any antenna.

My Stubby Antennae

Here's a photo of the stubby antennae that I recently installed. Bought it from Cartonix in Parker Place, Richmond (C$7.00).
No issues with AM/FM reception while driving around town.

just ordered my black J series I figure I'd leave it retracted most of the time since I don't use the radio much, and extend it if needed...
