Acceleration Problem
Hi,
Looking for some help and advice, my Yaris had fault code p0171 i cleaned MAF with contact cleaner as suggested to no avail. I purchased a new MAF sensor, installed it and cleared the code, but on my next journey the car struggled and lost power. I read a few articles online and followed their advice, the air filter was clean, couldn't spot any leaks or loose connections on hoses. I cleaned the throttle connectors with contact cleaner and took off the air filter housing and outlet hose and cleaned these up too. On start up the car seemed fine, took it for test drive and seemed to pull away OK but would not accelerate above 30ish. New fault code P0172 appeared which is running too rich. Not sure what my next steps should be, any help appreciated. |

Try disconnecting the battery for a couple of minutes to reset the ECM's fuel trims. Also, double check the part numbers of your old and new MAFs.
