drum brakes make squeaky noise

This is my kid's 07 yaris with about 70,000 miles. This is a new noise, not very loud but clearly audible (with radio off). Not when you apply brakes, but when you release them. Clearly in the rear. Recently I checked the front disk brakes and the pads had about 50% wear (unknown mileage). The brakes work fine otherwise.

I never enjoyed working on drum brakes (I did it only twice that I remember, never on this car), are they out of adjustment or something more serious?
Thanks!

I would suspect moisture. I would pull the drums , lube the contact points and adjust.
You can lube the contact points with a small screwdriver & avoid disassemble y.

Clean the dust off the drum if you have not done it yet.

Thanks.
I'll try to find some tutorials on YouTube as I'm a bit rusty on this.

I couldn't find a video on Yaris, but found one on older corolla and echo, should be similar. Wow, no axle nut holding the drum and no need to take bearing apart? That's easy job. Will do it soon when it stops raining.

Clean and lubricate friction points.
