Squeaking Noise? (Wooooo?)

Hi all,

Any of you experience a weird noise when your yaris is reaching or slightly over 70 mph? (or let say it's a certain speed). The noise is like "woooo....." and the length is unstable....sometimes long, sometimes short...but keep happening at about that speed.

Any one has an idea of what it is?

Thanks,

Ricky

Can you further explain a bit or instruct me where I can read some explanation?

How can I fix it?

Thanks,

Ricky Tong

You don't want to be driving your car and have (especially the front) wheel bearings fail. The issue with your car might not be the wheel bearings, but I'd say that could be a correct diagnosis. I've only had two things go wrong with my Yaris. One was the front wheel bearings and the other was the alternator. The sound you describe was gone after I replaced the wheel bearings in my Yaris. I wouldn't go to Canada with the thought that my wheel bearings might fail.

I had the outside shop buy it from the dealer, IIRC, re cheaper (overall) than if I bought the part from the dealer -- labor was $156.00 , parts = $157.98 , supplies $12.56, and tax $14.07 -- so total = $340.61
