Autocross Dec 13

We got SIX Yarii to turn out for today's autocross. There were only two run groups, so we worked 1 and drove 2. No time for pics of each other racing, unfortunately.

It was cold, wet and SUPER FUN.

I present to you, TEAM YARIS::
*lt noogie
*justjesus
*ddongbap
*arctic vitz
*krayzee jojo
*cali yaris

REALLY WET!

They changed the course last minute because this whole corner was under 2 feet of water -- don't go off course there!

My car all numbered up:

Those are good pictures, Garm. You could almost feel the traction giving out from looking at the pavement.

If I had my video camera going, I could have posted a panoramic view of the course as I did my 360 spin.

We got three runs.

Garm:
81 secs DNF (spun out AND went hopelessly off course)
71 secs (+2 cones, spun out again, same darn spot)

54.010 !

Nice.

Out of curiosity, how much does it cost to play?

^$30 online or $40 on-site + $15 weekend membership = 3 runs. $25 for extra runs after you get addicted

Is that an SCCA sanctioned auto-x? We don't allow carbon fiber in H-stock.
OTOH, it is cool to see yaris driven hard. Unfortunately there are no yaris competitors in hawaii besides me (well a fellow auto-x'er raced his mom's HB once).

we all "claimed" H Stock so we could be in the same run group. I would definitely not be in HS for points, probably SM

That's why we used the "X" to indicate time only runs. We wouldn't want to mess up someone who's actually trying to get points!

I'm going through the 2009 rule book now. I don't see how I could be in anything less than SM, but probably not Street Prepared.

If you don't mind competing in a California-only class, search for "CST" or "CSM" in the following link on the Solo2 webpage. Basically, anything goes.

2009 CSCC SUPP REGS

"Vehicles eligible for CSM must be capable of being licensed for street use in California..." is open to interpretation due to CARC restrictions. I run CSM but might switch to CST. I have to see which one has the best factoring.
