5w-20 Oil

Usually I run Mobil 1 5w-30 in my Yaris (3dr LB, Manual) but for this trip I am taking right now I wanted to try 5w-20 to see what a difference it would make in mileage. Normally I get about 38-40 mpg on the 5w-30 to and from work all highway miles, no A/c, just me.

Yesterday on the first leg of the trip from Dallas to Kansas City, fullly load, 3 passengers, and A/C on all the way with the 5w-20 (Mobil 1) I averaged 39 mpg. Based on the initial part of this trip it seems the 5w-20 does improve the gas mileage. Also consider I was driving between 70 and 80 the entire way.

Take it as you will, I will update further as the trip goes on.
