My guess is it fits where the spot in the wiper cowl comes off. I did a mock up of one this weekend. Just have to wait on some spare money to buy the materials to make it

I have the Simota intake I like the "cleaner/empty" look of it. But toeach thier own. Buy what you like and what you think looks good. You can always research the difference in how they work and perform.

The real question is which one is the better performer. I tried to find hp gains for both but the results are just to variable. I would think the cheaper one would be the better bet. Either one looks cool.

My automatic yaris with the AEM cold air intake posted better quarter mile times than most manual trans. yaris with a SRI.

I preffer the AFE but I did it for a couple of reasons ...

1) There are a lot of puddles around here when it rains so yes, I could have went with a full CAI with a bypass valve, but that wouldn't have been enough for me.

2) I've always preffered a short ram, but the downside of it is that you have to redirect more air to it if you want more colder air.

3) I do shows so I needed to show more Items in the engine bay

4) Cost.

*Edit* now I just realized that I need to fix the edge up after looking at the pic lol.

I have noticed a very nice increase to the "snappy" response with my new CF hood now that it has a scoop right over the AFE. I go AFE personally. As for the whole deal with taking the piping down through the fog light receptacle that kind of causes an issue if you want fogs right? To me to loose functionality like that is asinine. Why would want that? If you have no interest in fogs that is one thing, but to eliminate the possibility for them altogether is a bad design decision on any CAI manufacturer's part.

I'm not sure where you got your info, the there is no interference using the AEM intake and fogs. The filter is located higher than where the fogs go. I opted to use the foglight hole as a method of getting cooler air into the intake (and it reduced my intake temp by 10-15 degrees), and my Yaris didn't come with fogs. I have a pic somewhere of this fact. Again, the AEM intake does not interfere with the foglights, OEM or RS style. Not sure on other aftermarket bumpers though.

I've had Hydrolock before on a roadtrip with an AEM. I was about 2 hours away from home. It was a crazy intense storm.. I had to literally wait until the water evaporated.

I still prefer the AEM.. I believe it looks better.. IMO

I have a friend who did a dyno run with the CAI & now has the AFE, so I might convice him to to another one with the AFE for us to compare results.

Also I wanna compare my results: costum PVC intake vs the CAI :)
