help needed (dash and taillight don't work)

Hi thanks in advance for any help sorry if this is in the wrong place im new to this stuff

Ok my friend has a 08 yaris 4door manual she loves the car but about 3days ago the dash and tail lights stopped working. It has a analog dash and standard stereo Ive checked fuses,taillight bulbs theres power at the fuses radio works just no dash lights or taillights
And no dimmer switch
Trying to save money if we can would prefer to fix it myself than pay someone
Any ideas

You've checked both fuse boxes? There's one under the steering wheel and one in the engine bay.

Has there been any mods made to any electrical systems in the past. Also, no dimmer switch? The one on my Yaris is off to the left by my knee below the cup holder. Look there and try again. The tail lights may be a separate issue. Its worth a look...just fishin here.

The Australian ones do not have a dimmer switch.

Check again the TAIL fuse in the fuse box that is under the bottom of the dash. Try simply replacing the fuse, as sometimes the fuses blow in such a way that the opening is not obvious when you look at the fuse.

i have brought the fuses and will replace when i get the car back
