Interior accent and convenience lights under door panels
I want to tap into the the circuit for the dome light so when I open the doors the foot well areas light up and also when you open the door at night it lights up the ground where you step out. It would be nice for the door lights to operate independently of each other when you open the door they turn on. Where should I look for this?

Have you thought of what kind of lighting system?
In both front and rear foot wells I have the RGB light strips all chained together (no individuality for driver/passenger side), so far i have just wired them to produce blue and green at the same time to get a tealish, aqua color. These lights are come on as long as the car is in ACC. Bright enough to see the color in the daytime as well. But I understand you want to do this seeing at night. You could just tap into the door switch. *** This is an old pic of red accent lighting

Check out the "wires inside the Yaris and what they do thread" for info on where to connect to.

I already bought some really cheap blue led lights off ebay that were meant for just this purpose of mounting in the foot areas. My fathers Acura MDX has this really cool blue led that shines down onto your lap and its just barely noticeable, would be cool to recreate something like that in my Yaris. Im in the process of changing all my interior lights to blue leds.
Scott, I did see something about the wires at the fuse box. But what about when I open my door, I want some light mounted under the door panel that is triggered by the door switch, and I want each door to work independently of each other.

Independent triggering of lights with the two doors is not quite as simple. The two front doors do have separate "courtesy" switches, but you would have to connect a relay to each door courtesy switch to switch power to the separate sides of lighting.
