Battery light / no cruise

The title pretty much states my issue. I've searched the forum and didn't really see anything to help. My battery light does not extinguish after I start my car - no flashing. The only issue I've noticed since this light came on is that my cruise control stopped working. The car starts fine, and the alternator seems to be charging the battery. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Update: ALT-S fuse is blown, new fuse blew as soon as I inserted it

The ALT-S fuse feeds battery power back to the alternator. If it is blowing there is an issue with the voltage regulator within the alternator. There is a known issue with them corroding on 07 Yaris.

I read a few posts where you said that before, so I took it apart to look at it. It was pretty clean. Would that cause the alt to fail if I took the alternator in to get tested? Also, is it safe to drive until I can get another?

If the regulator fails, it can cause no output from the alternator, or the complete opposite and way over charge the system.
