If you could also include the part number from the plastic cap, that would be helpful. Some versions are more compatible than others, for reasons we don't yet understand.

$80 for 5hp would be worth it in my opinion. Sometimes it's about multiple small gains.

there is no such thing as an 02 matrix. 03-04 matrix will not work because its drive by cable. 05-08 are the compatible ones because they are drive by wire. I have an 06 matrix throttle body. PM me if interested.

It is a worthwhile upgrade. I did it to mine although I already had a DC sports header, AEM CAI, and NST lite pulleys. Mine is from a 05 corolla that had the correct chip.
Do it! |

Never have been to a dyno, but I remember one of my first trips I had the car LOADED full with 17"-23" heavy CRT computer monitors that I was taking to e-waste. Acceleration was noticeably much better than when it was usually weighed down and much smoother on inclines. Also noticed a slight improvement in MPG as I was having to give it less throttle to get up to speed.
So, Improved acceleration Improved MPG AEM CAI sounded nicer I had a bone stock yaris 5 speed try to take me on the highway, it wasn't happening. |
