curious question

hey,
im new to the forum and recently bought my 07 yaris in polar white. the sales person gave me "power windows" and "power door locks" but it wasnt from the factory and my power window controls are located in the exact place that the manual roll up window controls are. is there a way i can get this fixed so that the window controls are on the factory locations?

I'm sure your switches can be moved, but, you'll have to plug the hole in the door or it will look strange. Even plugged it will look strange.

do you think audio alarm shops would be able to work on the car since they do electrical wiring? or should i go to a toyota parts and service place?

Did you know ahead of time that you weren't getting factory options? If not, that's one shady dealership.

should have been in the car already from the factory. What dealership adds aftermarket items .. I'd just take the car back to them and say get me what I want.

If they didn't specify aftermarket parts, I'd raise hell. Complain to Toyota and you state's consumer protection division.

That is bullshit. You're saying the switches for your power windows are where the crank would be?

How much did they charge for power windows and door locks?

Did you sign anything regarding the installation of either?

all i know is that when i picked up the car they said it wasn't factory installed...even the alarm was a Clifford Arrow5 alarm! it seems like a hassle to go complain...maybe i should post pics on what the area looks like on my car.

YOU SHOULD BRING IT BACK and
1. GET A NEW CAR
2. SUE THEM
3. GO HOME AND CRY
But the first 2 options is a better choice. Remember tell us what you did.

mine was the same thing. they most likely installed a Autohaus package. was it around 1400? and you will need to get a new armrest on the doors since the one's with Toyota's power package is a little longer to accomudate the space for the buttons.

if i'll need to get a new arm rest for the doors i guess i'll pass on it. i'd rather put money into other things than replacing that stuff. Thanks for all the info on this question of mine.

Who said you had to? I mean, if they already cut holes near your crank sure... otherwise go slap them around and at least make it look this good.

Agreed, that looks nice. Still to to fill in the hole however. How, I don't know?

Most aftermarket power window kits come with various caps for the crank hole. Just pick one that fits and pop it in.
