DIY - Standing rear wiper for hatchback
Story:
The rear wiper is a shelf for dirt. During the winter months, I suspect it'll clear snow more effectively by pushing it down instead of bunching it to the side. This took about 30 minutes and is easily reversible. Tools: 1. 10mm socket - used on wiper arm and motor 2. #2 Phillips screwdriver - used on motor 3. Slotted screwdriver with tape - used to pry trim panel Procedure: 1. Remove rear wiper arm (refer to service manual pg WW-29). 2. Pop off the back door trim (refer to service manual pg ED-142). 3. Disconnect the white power plug from the wiper motor. 4. Remove the three bolts holding the motor. 5. Remove the four screws off the cover plate. 6. Lift the long arm off the white gear. 7. Rotate the short arm to the left and reconnect the long arm. 8. Reassemble and enjoy. Last edited by sex; 11-08-2009 at 10:07 PM. Reason: added tools and story section |
