2007 Yaris 42000 Miles hatchback

Hi, can anyone tell me whats wrong with my 2007 yaris hatch? when turning only right i hear grinding noise,coming from front left tire, it not clicking, its more like metal on metal sound, it doesn't make any sound when backing or turning left, just when turning sharp right.

Check the wheel well. Could be the plastic wheel well liner is damaged and rubbing.

Thank you for your reply i will do that, i did check cv joint boots and they look clean like new, no grease or anything on them, is there any other way to check bad cv joint? will it make sound turning left? if it was bad? my car only makes sound when turning sharp right. could it be bad brakes? or bad rotors?

i'd bet one of the brake dust shields is coming in contact with the rotor. if you have alloy wheels you can bend it back with your hands. if you have steelies you can likely stick a rod or screwdriver thru the holes to push it back a bit.

how do i check if its brake dust shield? will i be able to see from underneath?

I had exactly this symptom on my car. It started around December time. I drove my car through some pretty deep snow drifts. I can only get some snow or ice deformed the dust shield. I just bent it back when i did my 6 month service now that it warmed up. No more symptoms.
