Dealer called me up and said its time for an oil change and they will replace the cabin air filter at the same time.. Any one have this filter change done and what did they charge for filter and labor?

Go Toyota in Colorado is real proud of their price. Their is a great thread where you can make a filter yourself. If you choose to buy one this thread will help you replace the old one. http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/sho...bin+air+filter

Just go to PepBoys, Checker's Auto Parts or AutoZone and get a Purolator C35667 or Bosch (not sure of the part number) for less than $15. Fits perfectly in the Yaris's cabin air filter location.

In all likelihood, your car never came with an air filter. They're supposed to, but hardly anyone has reported that they came from the dealer new with one. Most dealer service is a ripoff. You can do all of it yourself easily, or have a local mechanic do it for much less.

Its behind the glove box. You have to take out the glove box, which is very simple and then you will see a white housing behind it that has a long rectangular front door on it. Take that off and your filter is inside. If you did not get your Yaris is the USA, then you should have one in there.

Or is this in the online service manual??

http://www.etimago.com/yaris/repairmanual/

I skimmed through the Air Conditioning area, but didn't see it listed.
Is it shown on page 122 , but just not labeled??

http://www.etimago.com/yaris/repairmanual/Air%20Conditioning.pdf

Oops....I see the link in the post #2 above has pics that show it.

If I can do it, you can do it...

I almost died when I paid Jiffy Lube 40 dollars (didn't know it until I read the bill) to do that...NEVER again..

You do it: 10-20 bucks which is still a ripoff for a folded piece of filter paper with a cardboard edge glued around it. Dealer does it maybe more than 40-60 bucks parts and labour. If you have money to throw around - throw it HERE!
