Nitto Exhaust

My exhaust finally arrived today (Thanks Garm). Threw it on and snapped a few pics. Love the sound.

Does it sound like a coffee can full of angry bees?
I had the greddy exhaust. It was fine with the silencer in, but hung to low to be practical on the roads around here.
I've been debating on buying this exhaust, could you post a sound clip for me?
thanks.

I run the same exhaust, it's a very low, deep, and almost quiet tone. It's a very mature sounding exhaust.

There is a sound clip in the exhaust thread, look up Etimago.

It is a very deep tone, pretty quiet too. I have only the axle back at the moment and every sound clip i've seen is of a full exhaust which is different and louder. This is a pretty good sound clip though, his is louder than mine though.

I recommend it if you're after a mature sounding exhaust.

Hi - what did you intend the Chinese characters in your sig to mean? Just curious.

The video posted showed a sedan, I think a HB might sound a bit different due to the different lengths of the midpipe between the sedan.

Does the Nitto Axel-back HFADER Turbo exhaust have a sedan bend?

Garm,

Maine has tightened up their exhaust laws recently and now to be legal any aftermarket exhaust has to measure 95 db or under by SAE J-1169.

The Tanabe Medallion Touring measures under 93 according to Tanabe's testing and given the test photos posted in their blog it appears the Medallion was tested according to J-1169 standards.

Do you have any idea what the Nitto unit for a hatch would test at in db or how it would compare to the Tanabe in volume? The police officers I've talked to have all said they wouldn't be concerned with any aftermarket exhaust that wasn't of unreasonable volume but I want to buy one I KNOW will test legal. I've narrowed my search to these two units but I am seeking input to aid my decision as I hope to purchase next week.

I'm really looking for deep rumbly sound that is not intrusive or obnoxious. From what I'm hearing either of these would fit the bill well but I would really like additional input into which to choose.

The Nitto looks like it is very close to rubbing the rear bumper lip-anyone had issue with that?

TIA,

R2

I don't have a decibel meter, but I wish I did. My experience with the Nitto is that it is very similar to the Tanabe in sound, not quite as deep, and a little quieter at idle.

If you go Nitto and have issue, just go to a muffler shop and get a slightly longer hanger.
