Lubricheck?

Hey all ... any of you heard of this? They are a new kickstart company from the US of A and have developed a cool mini oil analysis machine that will give you a good indication of when to change your oil.

Apparently it works by analysing the PH level of your oil, since oil gains acidity as it wears out. It can also detect metal and coolant particles and will warn you that something is seriously wrong with your engine.

Check it out: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...r-for-your-car

Looks pretty sweet ... I shot them $30 to get a first run device but I hope this turns out to be a good product. I would love to be able to know for sure how long I can go without changing my oil ... seems kind of a waste to just get it done every XXXXkm.

Just FYI in 4 days they take our money ($30) and start production on the first run units ... should have them hopefully before end of July.

This will be sweet if it works.

I got a simpler method, whenever my odometer reads a multiple of 10K i change the oil. Coming up to 80K this week, time for some fresh synthetic..
Keep us posted on how that device works as i'm curious as to how long/kms it takes to suggest an oil change, and how consistant those suggestions are, be an interesting experiment to see how it reads the differences in Synthetic oil over Dino oil,,..

^ ummm, kilometers vs miles. jambo101 is actually changing oil more frequently than you.

Should be an interesting device (if it works) since almost all consumer reports state that recommended frequency is way to premature.

.
Yeah i'm probably changing at 7500 miles, however if the car were calibrated in miles i'd stick to the 10K routine just for convenience..
