Miata 14 inch rims and 175/70R14 on a 2007-2012 Yaris SUCCESS!

Finally. Some rims that look good and don't dent.
Goodbye rusty pretzeled steelies.
Stock size is 185/65R15 and rim is 5.5 inches wide w/51.4mm bore center
NA miata rims R14 and 5.5inches wide w/ 51.4mm bore center

They require a potato chip of spacer. I used whatever these huge yet thin washers (1mm thick?) were and drilled the center hole to 31/64" bit (12.3mm) and it fits perfect on the stud and provides just as much bearing on the hub as the stock steelies do. I would opt for a wheel spacer a little thicker, maybe 2mm or 3mm, yet the stud wouldn't have full engagement with the lugnuts then. I love how the stud sits at the end of the nut right now. My pads are very thick and if I have an issue later I'll just have to wait a week for spacers to show up when I do my pads.

These tires ride amazing. I've got them at 30psi right now. Cushy.
Gives about half an inch of extra sidewall and fits the wheel well nicely. If you want to go to 175/75R14 or maybe 175/80R14 you can get even more sidewall and circumference if you're into lowering the revs some. I'm not sure how these cars do with larger circumference tires in terms of fuel mileage but I had 195/65R15s and they were nice in terms of durability.
