Snow Bank pushed pushed bumper out of snaps ?

I hit a snow bank, more like an ice bank of snow today; resulting in my rear bumper coming out causing a half an inch gap along the seam, and around the gas tank, compared to the other side of the car.

Can it be fixed so as there is no more space ? It looks as if there are snap clips which the bumper has to be aligned and snapped in, if I'm correctly ? I tried, although unsuccessful; odds are I'll have to visit the dealer to get it fixed.

You should be able to snap it back into place. I had a similar situation when someone rear ended me. Was hard enough to dislocate the bumper but not hard enough to cause real damage. Just line it up to where it should be and give it a hard smack with your hand. If it doesn't go the snap clips may be broken or the tabs on the bumper may be bent. Try to straighten them out and try again. Good luck.

Happened to me as well, just line it up and give it a firm smack by the clip and it pops in.

its very simple to put back in

Anyone have a picture of the clips on the car and on the bumper ? I tried to push it on, when I think it's in, a second later it pops out. I'm not sure whether I'm pushing it in correctly or the clips are broken.

Also I realized it wasn't from an ice / snow bank as I mentioned; the car was stuck with ice and snow and some dude helped us push the car, and I believe he pushed on the bumper causing it to pop out rather then the top corner of the car. I hope the clips arn't broken due to some random guy and causing me to have to buy a new bumper.

I had a similar problem with my rear bumper cover after reversing into a plantpot!
It would not remain clipped into place. I made sure the "tabs" on the bumper edge were all straight and undamaged but discovered that the plastic retainer strip on the car was damaged. It has slots to accept the tabs but two were opened up too big to retain the tabs.
My only solution was to buy the plastic strip - found a new one on eBay for half the dealer price. U.K. dealer £45. They are handed, right and left side. It is about 9" long and 1.5" wide. Secured by one screw at the back end, 10mm socket/spanner and hooks into the wheelarch.
Not saying that is your problem but I would inspect this retainer. The bumper cover doesn't need removing for access but does require the removal of one screw behind the rear hatch and about four of the push retainers underneath.
Also, as already mentioned, check all the tabs on the bumper to ensure non are bent. These do need lining up with the reatainer very carfully before pushing into place.
This is on eBay, U.K. However, the one I purchased was for a 2014 Yaris. Whether they are different for later versions I don't know.https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-T...frcectupt=true

Isn't it really nice when you try to help someone and it's just ignored?
