Factory Head Unit

i've searched with "head unit" and "head unit preouts" and can't find the answer, but with the MP3/WMA head unit that came in the '07 S sedan, i was wondering if it comes with preouts to hook up an amp.

i want to get some aftermarket speakers and an amp, but i want to do a little research first. thanks guys

That it doesnt :)

I was hoping it did too, if so, it would probably still be in my dash, not a bad unit if you dont need lots of features.

LOC's prevail.

so what does only having an amp wired to the 4 speakers and the sub, but not the headunit mean? is it a must?

If you do not have the amp running some form of signal from the headunit and your speakers are hooked up to your amp, you're going to have a rather quiet ride. I ran an amp off my stock headunit because the amp had speaker level /or high level inputs. If you don't have rca's or a line converter thats the only way to go. My harness for the speaker level ins had wires for each channel so I had to run wire from the factory wiring for each speaker to the corresponding wire on the harness( to maintain my fader control), then from the amp to the speaker. Thank God I didn't have to disect my headunits harness!

You should've bought this Toyota plug-and-play amp adapter while it was available!!

But ya... that'll give you your RCA outs.
