Would be good if the CREATOR of the thread posts pics of his own stereo setup????

Mine currently includes
- Kenwood CD/MP3 Tuner
- Response 4"+1" in dash
- Kenwood 6" in doors
- 4x100 Response AMP.
- 2X12" kENWOOD Subs. being fed 380rms EACH.

Here is my dash, I just finished:

and here is my sub box; its in progress:

the box is fully glassed now, it will fit in the spare tire well, once the new cover is made you will never know that it is there, same with the rest of the system!

Ok, when was the last time you had a flat?

For me, it was about 3 or 4 years ago.

yeah i agree with the fix a flat idea...

but it sucks to blow a tire, and not have a spare when your 400km away from home on a remote stretch of road, and the hole in your tire is to big for fix a flat...

last time i had a flat was also a long time ago, but the way life plays the day i take out the spare is the day the tire will go flat

the only reason we glassed is to get it to fit just right. well my friend/ installer is doing it so... but with the labour that we have put in would be around 2000 already!

Here's my system, only thing left to do is make a faceplate to cover up the gaps.

Alpine CDA-9857, ipod , bluetooth
Kenwood KGC-9044 EQ
MB Quart RCE 216 components front and rear
Kenwood KSC-SW1 subwoofer
Fosgate 301X 4 channel amp
Edead lining all doors and spare tire well

Used factory bracket

Sub mounted to a piece of wood mounted to the spare tire

Under the passenger seat

Thanks for the info!

Hey Toddhata,
I've been looking for a sub that will fit in the spare tire spot (without removing the tire) for a while. Thanks for this info! A few quick questions:

With your 4 channel amp what are you powering? 2 channels for front doors and 1 for the sub?

Also, how do you find the sub performs?

Thanks!
R

The 4 channel amp powers the front and rear components. The sub is self powered, so no additional amp needed. It works great, not booming pounding bass, but fills in the missing lows nicely. Sounds really good with most types of music. I have the same sub in my other 2 cars and I'm putting one in my dad's tacoma in the next couple of weeks.

MOst commonly, Front 2 speakers would run off 2 channels ... and the sub off the other 2 channels Bridged. Also depends if the sub is SVC or DVC, and what OHm the amp can run!
