Intake Mani

For those of you interested in an aftermarket intake manifold for the 2ZR take a look here:
http://www.scionlife.com/forums/view...798109#3798109
Have 2 people out of 10 so far and Im sure it'll come out cheaper with even more buyers.

For all you that don't remember about the infamous Manifold, let me remaind you.

Richard Holdener (A well known performance articles and books writter) developed a few months ago a custom Intake Manifold for the US Scion xD and posted some amazing Dyno graphs showing gains of up to 25 wheel HP combing his manifold with a free flowing exhaust. He did claim if I remeber correctly that 15whp out of the 25whp came from the manifold intake only.

***In case you don't know, the scion xD share the exact same engine as the Yaris TS. 1.8L 2ZR-FE***

For our small engines a gain of 15whp coming from just a bolt on part is huge...

This all Manifold madness got cold after several weeks with no updates from Richard, but looks like he has showed up again.

Hopefully he can post here some more details about a possible group buy...

I would be down for one unit if this actually happens.

Me and Castrex were talking, would you mind being a third party for the prospective buyers Garm? That way everyone can feel a little more confident putting there money into this

Now that I know the Yaris has the 1.8L from the Xd-I will certainly be more inclined to produce the Xd (and TS) intake and share other testing info that we gained on the dyno. Be hapy to have Garm provide unbiased info on test run with intake.

Yeap, the Yaris TS comes with the 1.8L 2ZR engine.

Hey maybe that's your next project after the manifolds and the turbo...

A 2ZR swap into the US Yaris... it should be an easy fit.

Please share any info you have regarding the 1.8 engine... Since this is such a new engine no one other than you as seriusly messed with it.

I'm running a custom cat back exhaut and a Fuijta CAI on my car. NST is currently working on an Underdrive lightweight pulley kit for the car as well...

All this and your manifold... yeah!

This manifold would also cover the 2009 Corolla, yes? With three different cars supporting the part, I think ten minimum sales would be easy to hit.

2009 Corolla and Matrix both come with the same engine.

I will go look into a Corolla engine bay to verify if the layout of is the same. It should be.

this sounds good but in germany we need a "ABE"..it's like a part licence that allows you to build this manifold streetlegal in the TS

without this "ABE" it isn't a good idea installing this manifold

During a normal inspection would they notice the intake is aftermaket?

These kind of problems happen in the US and in many places..

Some legislations are harder than other.

In some places as long as you pass the emission test they would not car... that's the most important after all...

I don't think that if you are stopped by a Police, they will go as far as inspecting your engine bay... or do they over there?

You can always remove the bolt on parts before an inspection...

Just like alot people do when taking the car for a warranty inspection... they remove the cold air intakes to avoid any problems...

It should be a matter of minutes to instal-remove this.

Just saying!!!

The duyno test was run on a Dynojet chassis dyno (often refered to as rolling road in Europe). Measurement is taken at the wheels.
