Steering Wheel Jams, Battery Warning Light flickers, Starting Issues

Hi,
I was on a Traffic Signal when I first experienced my steering wheel totally jammed, very stiff. I went to a mechanic, who advised me to replace Alternator and Battery which I did. Car drove fine for 7-8 days but again i am experiencing the same issues:
1. The steering gets stiff and jammed when the car is standing still.
2. Battery warning light flickers, off and on, on various timings
3. The car is having starting / ignition issues, I cannot start my car.

PS: When the steering wheel jams, i put the car in neutral gear, press the accelerator for few seconds, the steering becomes soft (normal). Also when I press accelerator in neutral gear, the lights go dim and bright as if they are taking current directly from the source related to accelerator!

Any help from any one would be extremely appreciated!!!!

Sounds like you got an aftermarket alternator that doesn't properly feed the signal to the cluster, PS ECU, etc, that the alternator is outputting sufficient power to drive things like power steering.
