Bolt Size

I suppose that this is a DIY question.

I'm gettting some "summer alloy" wheels, and using my steelies as winter wheels. I've got a torque wrench but the largest socket I have in my set is a 19mm, which does not fit on the lug nuts.

So, what size are the lug nuts? Sorry if this is a noob question, I just want to save myself the hassle of buying a bunch of various sized sockets.

You could measure the size of the socket on the emergency wrench.

CTScott, you are the man!

I'll post pics once I've got the wheels on.

21mm socket worked perfectly! Everything snugged up to 75 lb-ft of torque.

And the results!

i got a question that deals with the lug studs. is the thread pattern the same as honda's thread pattern? i got a set of rims but the diameter of the hole doesnt quite fit my 21mm socket which is a 12 point skinny socket. but they do work on my crx which uses 19mm socket. is the thread the same as the honda civic/crx 4x100 studs?

i could easily find out this weekend but im at work and figure this would be a good information if anyone else had this question.

The CRX also uses M12x1.25 lug nuts, so the studs are the same, but the outside of a lug nut can be any size. For example, the stock lug nuts that came with my Yaris steelies use a 21mm socket, as do the lug nuts that came with my Toyota TTE alloy rims, but the lug nuts that I need to use with the mini cooper rims (that I run as my winter rims) use a 19 mm socket.

BAAM.. question answered thanks a bunch. that is the same prob u have with ur mini rims as i do with my rota's off my crx. i got some 225/50/15 khumo v710 tires on those and gonna be running those on the yaris next event. i like how most of my tire stuff is interchangeable from my crx. less things to buy.. thanks again. greatly appriciated
