A vise isn't absolutely required. If you have a sturdy table with a hole in it, or 2 tables side by side with a small gap between them you can use that. Basically you just need a sturdy surface with a gap to allow the shifter to "hang" from the cup remover tool which is supplied with the shifter.

Thanks Kevin, that's good to know, I should be able to work this out... Just had a lot of work piling up on my shoulders the past couple of days, so I dunno if I'll get this done anytime soon :sad:
