TRD rear sway bar...

I can now confirm that the TRD rear sway bar also fits the 2012 models.

When stuff like this (and the header) says "fits 07-08" I always get a little creeped out but figure what's the worst that can happen? Ship it back, pay a restocking fee, and move on. So I don't mind being a 2012 model lab rat.

I can also report that the TRD sticker fits the 2012 models too...

And what's your driving impression with the anti-sway bar?

TRD emblem looks cool!

Don't know yet because I just put it on this evening and we haven't gone anywhere except to take a hike in the hills to see the big full moon at perigee just as it was rising tonight.

I anxiously await a report after your road test. I already love the '12's sharp handling (for the class of car), but I will totally buy and install one of these, if the sharper handling is there.

Sure. I'll let you know.
The bar only took about 20 minutes to install and is as close to an absolutely perfect fit as you can get. Fits onto the lower rear shock bolts, which are already long enough to accept the bar. Two other supplied bolts attach it to the trailing arm which has perfectly positioned holes.

I noticed something interesting about the bolts...
There is a flat washer under the head of the bolt and serrations stamped into the underside of the nut, so the bolts remove much easier by turning the bolt head rather than the nut. Same with installing. I just snugged them down by hand and turned the bolt heads with just one wrench because the serrated nut bites in and holds its position without needing to be held with a second wrench.

the only difference from 07-11 and 12 is the body panels and interior. rest of the car is identical. all parts from earlier models 07+ will fit without a hitch.

Taking a car ride to town always has lots of twists and turns because we live in a canyon, so today I got an opportunity to see how the rear sway bar works... and it works great. The car stays completely flat in the turns with no hint of any body roll. I'm really pleased at how well it works. And the nice part is that it doesn't make the suspension harsh. You don't even know it's there until you turn the wheel.

Didn't find any deals so I just paid the going rate. It was $176 with free shipping and no sales tax off of Ebay. Dealers sell them for the same price, about $150 plus sales tax and shipping. I believe it's worth it because the value of improved handling is greater than the cost.

I had one on my 2007 and now have one on my 2012. It is the best modification you can make for your money. The difference in handling is immediately apparent and very significant. It makes the car handle much flatter and it is especially noticable when taking a sharp turn quickly. You can get a real TRD one one at partsnet.com for $149 with free shipping if you use the pull down menu for shipping method.

I am puzzled, I thought the track on the '12 was wider than earlier Yaris?

The wheelbase is a little bit longer.

2011 96.9"

2012 98.8"
