Torque Solution shifter bushings, opinions?

Hey guys,

Just looking for opinions or experience regarding Torque Solution's shifter bushings for our Yari'. As far as I know they are the only company that still make aftermarket shifter bushings for these cars(if there are others, I would be interested to hear about them) and I wanted to see if anyone has put them on their car before I pick up a set from Garage16.

The slop has finally gotten to me and I want to do something about it, my weighted shift knob and TRD quick shift help, but I want more precise shifts.

Thanks!

Did you ever buy a set of these? Just wondering if they were the bushings that install on the transmission end of the cables inside the engine bay?
Mine were falling apart when I went to install a trd quick shift kit lol.

Yep, they are fantastic. They're the transmission side bushings, TRD quick shift and a weighted shift knob transforms the shifter feel and action on these cars.

I really really wish this TRD in engine kit is still available. Can't find it anywhere. The only feasible product that produces a shorter shift throw is the NST in cabin one. This isn't very ideal for me because if I don't like it, it's not the easiest thing to uninstall. Also I'm a bit hesitant to trust the kit and trust that some component of my gearbox or transmission won't be damaged in the long term (that's partially due to being mechanically illiterate though). That's why the in engine kits were so awesome. Such a shame.

There's a kit for the GR but I'm pretty confident it wouldn't work

I might give the bushings a try though, thanks!

Keep an eye out on Croooober, beforward and bidjdm, they pop up from time to time. I got mine from Croooober.

The part number for the 3rd gen TRD quick shifter is MS205-52003.

Ah, that part number looks to also be an in cabin kit. For some reason I thought you were referring to this one, part number PTR4652081

Conceptually, would an in-cabin short shifter such as the MS205-52003 and the NST one that I linked cause pre-mature transmission wear? I'm very on the fence about this topic.

I didn't know TRD marketed one for the US market. I haven't noticed any transmission wear and I am going on year 3 with mine, the C50 is a crunchy box of mashed potatoes and rocks regardless.

The TRD kit I got from Japan is the entire shifter and cage assembly, easy peasy to install. It took me about 20 minutes.
