Yaris 2008 1,3 , with arco on, low rpm stationair

Hello, I am new on this Forum. My wife has a Yaris from 2008. We bougt this car in 2009. Totall km is now 117.000 km. No real issues yet. Only leaking shock adsorber behint and both rear weel bearings. Since this week, when the airco is on, the rpm becomes so low that the motor is shaking a little. Not a real issue, but I would like to know what could be the cause. I am sure that the motor runs on 4 cylinders. But shakes due to a low rpm, about 500.without arco on the rpm rises 50 and problem is gone. I did myself the regular maintenance, oil change, sparks,, brakes etc. The car runs ok.

How about throttle body cleaning? But that may actually decrease the rpm even more... it did for me when I cleaned it.
What happens when you turn on the lights? It usually increases the rpm a bit as well, if you are using normal H4 halogens.
Honestly I do not understand why your AC behaves like that. Whenever I turn the AC on then my rpm goes a bit up, definitely not down. Is everything with the AC fine?
I am not sure what options the Toyota TechStream software offers but there may be some tweaks there that would allow you to increase the rpm but I belieive that is not the right approach. The right thing would be for the rpm to go up when AC is on. Not down.

When you turn on the AC the idle speed should increase by about a 100rpm since the ECU is compensating for the additional load of the compressor. Are you getting any check engine lights? Check the condition of the electrical connector on the AC compressor.

Afaik there should be two connectors, one powers the compressor (two wires, green-ish and I think blackwhite-ish the other) and another connector sends out rectangle signals to the ECU indicating that the compressor is up and running. Ideally should be checked with oscilloscope to get precise readings. But if the AC produces cool air then the ECU assumes the compressor is OK so the signals must be there I guess.

Few years ago, my AC system has been overfilled with refrigerant (it was done by official Toyota service center!) - instead of 360g of freon they pushed in 460g. It may be worth checking on your side as well - whether the AC is all good. I had to go to an independent car shop that specializes on AC only.
