12-24 v needed for rear camera for Yaris 2006.

Hi folks.

I'm trying to install rear camera for my Yaris 2006.
My camera manufacturer says the operating voltage is 12-24V.

i tried to get DC supply to the camera from 3rd tail light (brake light) and everything works fine. Unfortunately, the camera comes to life every time i press the brake.

I decided to make it to the reverse gear-triggered camera and tried to get DC from the rear reverse (backup light). Now every time i change to reverse my LCD screen shows a blank black screen with "no signal" message. Voltage measured by multimeter is almost 12V(11.5 something).

It seems the voltage is not enough for the camera.
any comments on this and any ideas to solve this matter?

thanks in advance
