The USA market does not carry any OEM HID for the Yaris as you already know.
All OEM Toyota parts are not all manufactured in Japan. Like most
automotive companies, they are outsourced or have plants in other countries.
Toyota has plants in USA and Thailand. Being "JDM" is just a phrase.
The lights shown in the link you posted are made in Thailand as an OEM Toyota part.

Don't be surprised when you by a genuine Toyota oil filter from a Toyota dealer
only to see it stamped "made in Thailand". JDM, TDM, whatever, it's OEM Toyota.

@cali_yaris: I found the discrepancy. You just gotta delete a digit from the price. hehe.

Yeah, JDM is just a term used to emphasize peoples desire to have a vehicle as it was built for the Japanese Domestic Market. Has nothing to do with the various parts buckets used to assemble a car built for and sold in Japan.

So does anyone have pics of the jdm projection headlights? How different are they from the tdm? I'm worried since they drive on the wrong side of the road you wouldn't be able to point them in the right direction on a usdm car and blind people. Is their a edm version? Those would have the right angles.

the pics i posted on page 1 IS the HID unit found in japan. There are no projectors, it uses a special housing à la 04-06 prius HID.

I just want to know if the JDM Head Lights fit with no modifications to the US models? On HB 07 both the hid version and the regular version. Because it look pretty good those head lights...

Japan is right hand drive, so the headlights have the wrong cut off for the US.

I'm currently am using JDM hid headlights on my car for. The past year--they work fine, no blinding and the view is evenly distributed. The lights have a very good adjustment range.

I am interested in converting my USDM 2007 Yaris headlight to a JDM HID headlight. I see the above post listing part numbers for just the headlight assembly. Is there a comprehensive list of specific part numbers that make up the JDM HID headlight unit?...I would be very interested in the conversion if the math and dollars work and it is plug and play.

I completed a similar USDM to JDM conversion on my Rav4 and it cost me basically close to $800 when all was said and done and it was basically all plug and play using genuine Toyota parts that I ordered from various websites.

making jdm hids work on a usdm yaris is a bit of a pain but is sorta plug and play, as i recall an extra ground had to be wired.

This is all from the top of my head; i may have missed some stuff.

You just need to buy the headlights itself for the prefacelift vitz (VERY VERY easy and cheap secondhand shipped)

you can get the official ballast for the vitz, or do what i did and buy LS460 ballasts that are literally everywhere about 120 a pop.

--since you are sticking with toyota factory parts, you will be using D4R bulbs only.

then you gotta buy a h4 connector, 194 connector and a toyota 4 prong plug, along with an i think an H7 bulb for the high beam.

you do need to adjust the headlights a GREAT deal horizontally, also. it has a very good range, so no worries there. The high beams are pretty useless from now on (flash duty).
