Can I fit this 9" wide wheel in the rear?

Can a 17x9" +35 offset wheel fit in the rear? Or is the offset too low?

Definately would need the fenders rolled? Correct?

Or could a 18x8.5" +38 offset fit for sure? Also with fenders rolled.

Also, what kind of tire would be needed?

Thanks!

Just wondering why you want to run something that wide on the rear? I figured you would want something wider on the front for 2 reasons 1 bing we have front wheel drive cars and 2 you have a s/c putting all that extra 30+ hp. If I'm not mistaken you are also running the 13mm PG hub spacers that might be some good info to add to your first post

yea are you realistically putting down that much power to the rear wheels that you need that amount of traction. If not your just slowing the car down with that wide of a wheel. Jeez, i only have 8.5 in the rear of the MR2 and that grabs fine for the power i make, I could just see it drag down the yaris

I think he's trying to go for a "hella flush" look. Like they say, if you're not rubbing, you're not flush enough.

lol. im obviously not getting them for performance. sorry garm, i would keep the SSRs until I die; or the yaris dies. the wheels i am looking at have a nice lip and was just curious about those wheel sizes and if they would fit. i would obviously also be getting a wider wheel in the front.

lol, so they are for a flushed-look then. I say do it anyway, regardless of fitment. You can be in the Wrong Fitment Crew. hehehe.

well i always loved wheels with a nice lip. I don't mind the staggered look on a yaris; even though it's retarded because the yaris is FWD.

Here is the wheel and it's different sizes. I know the brand is crap, but it's the only wheel that offers the kind of lip i'm looking for and that has a design i like. If i got the wheels, i'd definately need to black out the center caps. :P

I don't think Sportmax is that crappy of a brand. I was about to get the 039's actually.

Your choice is very nice. I love that lip!

i think you may still need a 5mm spacer (maybe smaller??) in the rear (since you may rub on the shock, the front wheels on that set up are 17 x 7 so those are fine. I say go for it, I was looking at the same wheel, but in gold with a polished lip.
HELLAFLUSH FTW!

Yah I know the 17x7 +40 would work up front. It was just the question of the 17x9 +35 in the rear. I doubt it could fit.

Also, I wouldn't buy these if i was only to run the 17x7 +40 all around.

And what about the 18x7.5 +38 offset. Could that work on the front? If so, i'd like to run the 18x8.5 +38 in the rear... err

But I don't know what size tire to run with these? And I don't like that stretched tire look either.

lol. yah, subtle is fine. nothing crazy, and you know what i'm talking about!

ps: I really am not looking for that "hella flush" look or "vip" look. Just want a nice wide wheel with a good lip.

i like this....

and don't want it to look like this....

I like the fitment on the 8. On that sedan, there's too much poke for me. That's Wrong Fitment Crew status. hahaha.

the 8 is flush, so you are looking for the hellaflush look; you just don't want to be called hellaflush, how about HellaPoop. lol...

well i hope you find the wheel and look you are going for.

For a 8.5" you'd need it to be +45 to +50 offset. For a 9" make it +48 to +52.
It would sit "flush", but 100% rub on fender - yes, a fender roll and pull required if you don't want rub.
Beware of inner fender/strut if going that wide.
Good luck!

I love lips.
