Seibon carbon bonnet question - Toyota Yaris Forums

hey guys

im thinking of getting this hood:

my question is this:

1 - with the vents in the bonnet , will rain damage anything in the engine ?

2- how to wash the car wrt water getting in the engine ? cover the holes?

3 - does it just bolt on ?

2. Just wash it lol
3. Yes but I don't remember if you need smaller bolts or it used the stock hood bolts .
I've been using the siebon hood with vents for the last year with no problems

thanks for the reply , glad it is as simple as i thought , does it come with the mesh attached or in the box or must i buy some ?

Thanks , my yaris is having a full exterior change for 2010 probaly won't even look the same lol . I'm pretty sure it comes form seibon with mesh in it already .

Seibon hoods come with the mesh installed, it's silver in stock form.

No worries with water in the motor or washing the car, I'm just careful around there not to dump a bunch of water directly in.

order directly from them, the first hood on the TC was a Seibon CF and it fit like crap too

we switched to VIS and had perfect fit and finish, Seibon is just a crappy company IMO

That's weird considering they have like 14 sponsored 350s all with CF hoods..

we posted it up on az350Z and there were other guys with the same fitment issues we had. They had to cut the latch and hood pin it to get it to work

i would go vis over seibon, after getting the vis hood it was night and day quality difference, price is higher but worth it

Because they have sponsored 350's with CF hoods....that correlates to them fitting well?

Even VIS is lackluster. The best CF producer I have ever seen or use is Competition Concepts. His BMW hood(s) are absolutely phenomenal though they are not for show...they are for go and weigh almost nothing. Not cheap either but worth every penny for the fit, finish, and competitive advantage.

i havent had any issue with VIS, i havent heard of the other company, i'll have to look into them

Micro Image is a dealer for both. The Seibon hood for the Yaris fits just fine.

I thought I heard that people have had fitment issues with both CF hatches and hoods? I was lead to believe this was just normal because they are all handmade?
