Rough engine start w/76?

I have a 2009 Hatchback - 6mo old. This morning had a rough engine start (cranked engine, seemed to hesistate before turning over) - this has not happened before.

Day before I filled up w/76 brand gasoline (standard octane) - I've previously only filled up w/Chevron. I also reset maintenance light (changed oil a few weeks ago).

Do you think it was gas difference, or something I need to watch?

Hesitating BEFORE cranking over isn't bad gas. I wonder if your battery's on its way out?

Is it when you crank it and it continues to try and start for a second or two like your holding
the key but you have actually let go then after 1 or 2 seconds it starts. If so, I've had this problem and
so have a couple other members. Its nothing to worry about.

Brian, that's exactly what happened. Relieved that it's no issue.

Any idea on the cause of it?

I have no idea what causes it. It happens about once every 6 months to me. No one
that I know of has had any negative effects from this though.

had the weather changed at all? if you've had the car 6 months you've likely not experienced an entire season of weather yet.

my car sometimes does not appreciate high humidity. then again my engine is on it's way out anyway.

76 octane???
thats more than a tad lower than what is needed.

the standard fuel around here is 87 octane.

the slow cranking issue.. i've had it, 3 days in a row until i changed my start up habit. I don't know what could have caused it as i used it the same for a whole year when it happened.
