Turbo Toyotas developing a kit for the Scion xD

Something interesting to keep an eye on!

This is the link:
http://www.scionlife.com/forums/view...asc&highlight=

No actual HP figures yet. They are just on the developing process.

TurboToyotas has had multiple customer service problems with their clients mostly due to huge delays on a lot of their shipments. But according to many reviews they actually put out some great quality kits.

Still I think this is something interesting to follow up.

And here some pictures of the mock up.

Their Yaris kit was CRAP, and the service was worse. I would never buy a whole kit from Todd again. I kept the log manifold (which was good quality) and the vacuum block, nothing else fit or was the right part for the kit. Downpipe had to be refabricated because it hit the subframe, for example. Todd's excuse: "you didn't install it correctly". Not.

Welcome,

As I explained on the initial post, this kit is just on the development process. Plus the company making it is not that reliable if you know what I mean.
According to them they should have the kit ready in a few weeks.

The initial estimated cost for the kit in the simplest form will be around $3K.

That been said, there are a few things to consider.

The kit is been developed for a Scion xD. Is the same engine as ours, and the engine bay layout is 99% identical to the Yaris.

So regarding the question of: Would this turbo kit fit into a Yaris TS?
I would say it should fit. Worst case would be some minor adjustments on piping. That why I post it here, cause I think that in the venet of the kit actually been produced by these people, it would be a good option as far as force induction for the Yaris TS.

Something else you need to concider is that the base price of $3K does not include any sort of Engine Management. So it's not a complete kit.

In order for you or any one to install a kit like this on a TS, we would have to hardwire some sort of engine management and have it custom tuned. That means that you will need access to a reputable tuning shop to do that for you. And it probably will be some what expensive as it will all be custom work.

I hope this has asked your questions.

Take a look at the TS section, as there is mention to some other parts that are currently under development and that WILL fit in our car.

There is an Intake manifold and a light weight pulley set on the works.

Richard Holdener, the same guy working on the Intake Manifold for our cars will also be experimenting with a turbo application for the Scion xD.

But even if any of those kits could be fitted into the Yaris TS, we will still have the problem of the Engine management! And that's something we would have to deal with. Also, the $3K price tags will probably only include the turbo, manifold, intercooler and piping.

Some or all of the following parts will also have to be added:

-Monitoring Gauges (Boost, EGT, Oil Press)
-Engine Management (Piggy back or stand alone unit)
-Dyno Tunning
-Upgraded Injectors

.....

I guess it really depends on a lot of factors... But I will say that it will take as many months as it takes to find and sign enough people willing to buy it and pay the price...

It also depends on who is developing the manifold. If the part comes from a company that has the infrastructure and production capability available it will be pretty fast.

If it comes from just one person like in Richard's case who is involved in a lot of projects at the same time. The answer is who knows!
