U.S. to get four-door hatch?

According to Autoweek:

I sooo hope this is true!

Its possible, if the xA is made into something else or discontinued after 2007 then Toyota maybe be more inclined to bring over the 5-door hatch...obviously it also depends on sales but apparently thats not going to slow down anytime soon. And I'm sure Toyota might add more options through the years on the Yaris, granted it keeps its popularity, gas prices so I see no problem, but its also a nifty car as well (IMO).

Wouldn't surprise me in the least, given the Yaris' popularity.

I'd be surprised if they dropped the xA altogether or drastically changed it. It took awhile, but now I usually see several xA a day.

i saw a few xa's when i was in boston, i think they are really ugly cars, they don't have the same character that the xb has

if the yaris will replace it, i think that is a good idea

I don't like any Scion but the tC. The xB is an oversized fridge on wheels and the xA is just plain ugly. No point of comparison with the Yaris.
Although I prefer 2 doors to 4 doors, I think that the 4 doors hatch will be quite welcome and might get the "weird" stigma the Yaris has as for one it will be more practical for everyday use (not that it isn't right now, mind you. I love my 2D!)

A salesman told me they were dropping the xA. Take that for what it's worth.

I think the xA needs to be retired, it's been an aging model on the japanese market as the ist, and if I'm not mistaken, the ist is a chassis mate of the previous model Vitz/Echo... seems like the platform there is getting old, older anyway than the new Vitz/Yaris. Besides that, how long do you think it will take for the new bB to be brought over as the new xB?

I like the 5dr so much.. But I already ordered the 3dr. Anyway I will trade it if it the 5 dr available over here.
I think the main reason Toyota not giving us the 5dr is because of xA, I wish it can be available sometime later.
