Selecting Wires

Okay, so im still in the beginning process of putting together my system. i got an Alpine mrp-m500 amp as a gift, and took advantage of Best Buy's deal of the day yesterday to pick a 12" Pioneer TS-W309D2. My next step is picking a HU.

What is was wondering is how do i go about choosing wires to wire everything together???? Is there a thread anywhere that goes over this, or am i just overthinking it?????

any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

There are a couple of audiophile folks that may chime in on this one as well, but my experience with http://www.knukonceptz.com/ has been outstanding for my Yaris. I actually have liked their products so much that I will be using them until I pass to the next world. I am getting ready to place an order with them in the next week or so for my hauler that I am picking up today. I have had their wiring "kit" in my sedan for 5 years with no issues and from all that I can tell no degradation. I can suggest as well that you bypass the stock speaker wiring for sure no matter what you are installing if you are installing aftermarket door/deck speakers.

X2 on the knu koncepzt. Now if you plan on adding another amp the 4 gauge will be to small. So you can either run another 4 gauge kit or go with 0 gauge.

thanks for link, i dont plan on adding another amp (but now you've got me thinking), i may just use the amp to power the sub, and use the HU for the speakers.

Unless you have a really good HU I would still spring for a discrete amp personally. Your ears and speakers will thank you for it.

s7v7n, as far as wiring for the speakers what would you recommend, does knu konceptz have a wiring kit for speakers as well?

All their wire is great. They sell speaker wire by the foot. 12 - 14 gauge speaker wire should work just fine.

14 gauge for 50 - 75 watts
12 gauge for up to 100 watts.

I have some 10 gauge speaker wire from them. You could run a small amp off it no probs. Good thick stuff.

I have this one and have been very happy with it, but amps all have to do with budget and once again a couple of the other folks might be able to point you to something as well:
