HID - Even beam pattern?????

Hey Guys,

I need some help with my HIDs. I got them to work and all, What I need now is for them to have an even beam pattern. Obviously the headlights are not designed around the HIDs. Any advise on getting a nice even beam instead of a scattered pattern?

Has anyone tried to remove the reflector immediately in front of the bulb?

I also get the impression a pair of eyelids would probably cut down on unwanted upward projecting glare which may blind oncoming drivers.

I heard that for the stock configuration, the bi-xenon is a must for consistent light output/scatter.

I noticed the lower shields are quite small on my bulbs. I can imagine these would probably benefit from being larger and could also benefit from being painted black with some high temp ceramic paint.

The bulbs I got from Race Factory had a very small shield attached with two very small screws underneath the HID apparatus. It is only a few mm wide and is basic matte aluminum.

In conversation with xenon-vision, it was brought to my attention that the bi-xenon light puts out better/more consistent light. I think that it has something to do with the length or area of the bulb in relation to the reflector.

I think I am going to try fabricating another set of anti-reflectors on the bottom of the bulbs. The original ones are connected by two small screws.

Precisely. Perhaps I should have been a bit more clear. I was speaking in terms of the cutoff only.
