reverse scoops, on the other hand, are used to help extract air from the engine bay. This can have 2 purposes: keeping underhood temperatures cooler, and allowing better airflow through the engine compartment, thus reducing the car's aerodynamic drag somewhat.

We need an aerodynamic engineer to chime in. The great aerodynamics of this car depends upon a smooth laminar flow of air over the hood, up the windshield and over the top of the car. I wonder how the drag coefficient will be affected by a blast of air shooting out of the hood into the smooth airflow.

Don't get me wrong, I really like the design of some of these hoods. I'd hate to get worse gas mileage due to a aesthetic design that undoes aerodynamic design.

That's the TRD kit. The R1 kit is slightly different. Both nice widebody kits and both available by special order. (hint hint)
