Okay. I was thinking that you took it off and left it off. Makes sense to
put it back on.

Oops, yep, sorry. I was replying with my phone, so my response was shorter than normal.

Although it wouldn't be the first time I ended up with more parts than I started with on a project. :)

Another question: how many of you that have done this horn upgrade are just looking for reasons to honk your horn?

I can now scare birds at the side of the road quite easily. Seems to be a game I have going now. Whereas before, they wouldn't flinch.

Just a doubt with fiamm's am80 model

Hi everybody!

It's reaaly cool that almost all of you can get the original Toyota Premium Horns. Here in Mexico I just couldn't find them.. so i bought some fiamm's which i installed today... i just have a doubt.

I made my own harness (bought the low and hi tone). I connected it, test it and worked perfect.. But when i tried to start the engine,,, it started like jumping.. or when there's not enough energy on the battery to start the engine... i was horryfied!!! ... after trying 3 times the engine finally stated and i took a trip to my local walmart (which has and underground park place) and checked up everything... i noticed that my headlamps were low.. so i accelerated and they become brighter... but when i left the pedal, the car started like shutting down.... This never happened me before,, so the question is: what I did wrong??

I used caliber 16 wire and female covered connectors.

All your help will be thankful.

RG!

You shouldn't have to make your own wire harness - use the wire that was on the original horn and connect it to the new horn. Maybe when you made your own harness, you connected something that's making your car go haywire. The horn shouldn't draw that much power to drain your battery.

Eh, it took about a week and a half. It's worth the wait.

I just bought a pair of DENSO horns for the Yaris. Looks and sounds exactly like the ones fitted on new Lexus cars. Best part is that it just cost me roughly $40 for the pair.

As I understands it, Toyota owns about 20% of Denso.
So, that is why they use Denso parts and that includes the stock horn. I assume the Lexus horns are Denso also.

The Toyota "premium" horns are most likely re-badged denso.

Where did you get them? Can you post pictures please?

Huh! Here I thought I had an original idea. I just ordered a pair of these Toyota Premium horns off of ebay. I got the idea from my IS300 because I like the sound of its hi/lo horn. Nice and loud too! Then I thought I would do a search here and lo and behold! someone (lots of someones) have beat me to it.

Old thread but have several near misses since I've owned this Yaris, think it's time to buy the horn upgrade. It's funny I already want to ad or replace the horn, review mirror/reverse backup, keyless entry and fog lights.

Sure the list will go on...

I had this on my tacoma truck and it is a AWESOME upgrade, people def. get out of the way, it's plug and play and takes 5 minutes to install Hella makes a nice horn kit also for about half the price but I have the wiring skills of a bowl of cold cereal
