Unhappy Melting Shifting Cables

Hey

I recently modified my yaris rs 1.5l with a turbo and now im facing problems with the shifting cables because from where the shifting cables passes now there is a pipe for the turbo and its pressing the cables downwards the exhaust pipe causing them to melt.
please any solution

I don't know if it would be enough to solve your problem but what about heat wrapping? You could wrap the exhaust pipe to keep the heat away from the cables and maybe the cables for added protection?

It may even boost your power by reducing engine temp. Every 11 degrees dropped = 1%whp roughly.

"Altitude" LOL!!
the cables used to be heat wrapped but i'm guessing because the exhuast pipe is not, the heat was enough to destroy the heat wrapper of the cable! I will wrap the new ones i will buy and also i will wrap te exhaust pipe! but i was wondering if i can find any longer(altitude;) :P) shifting cables so i will be 100% sure that this will not happend again by passing the longer cables above the turbo pipe!

Thanks a million!

I had this issue on my turbo engine. Shifting cables were too close to the downpipe.

Use this for the cables - http://www.designengineering.com/cat...nized-sleeving

Use this for the downpipe - http://www.designengineering.com/cat...-lr-technology

After these make sure that the cables and the downpipe are not making contact or the cables will eventually fail even after wrapped
