Toyota Aygo
Another of the "something to look at while I wait for my car to show up" threads. I assume this car is familiar to everyone, but I thought I'd post these pics just to share.
I'm sure it's pretty slow and not really suited to our higher-speed long-distance driving style, but it's still pretty cool. Its mileage is rated at close to 60MPG (imperial gallons)! EDIT: It makes the Yaris look big, powerful and thirsty! |

i think the aygo was the result of a joint venture with renault, and of course, it is only available in europe.

Looks like a great "little" car, perfect for the city. Bit of a "Looker" too, I'd say!

The outside looks good, but that console looks like a few people got sick all over it.

I like the Aygo too. It would be a great runabout car. Here are some owner pics.
I think those wheels would good on a Yaris, too. |

Aygo was a joint venture between Toyota, Peugeot, and Citroen, so there are 3 similar cars...
Toyota Aygo, Citroen C1, and Peugeot 107, the Aygo the best looking of the bunch imo... Cheers |

so this joint venture is something like the vibe/matrix then?
if so, do all of the companies build them separately? |

Toyota and the PSA Group (which owns Peugeot and Citroen) formed a joint-venture company, TPCA, to create the car. The group has a factory in the Czech Rep. that produces 300,000/year of these cars (100,000 cars for each brand).

I'd probably pick this over a Yaris if I had the choice. I love dinkiness!
What's it got, a 1 liter engine? Or does it simply wind-up? ~YR

Well, I personally think it's pretty sweet. I think a lot of people are surprised by how big even the Yaris Liftback is. It's not much smaller than a Matrix when it comes down to it. I'd consider going for an Aygo if they bring it over.
