Airbag contact question

Hello,
I recently installed some foglights. When I put the bumper back in place I noticed a contact that is just hanging loose. I attach a picture.
I had the bumper replaced at a auto shop a while back after hitting a dog at 65 mph. I wonder if this contact should be plugged in? Is it for the airbag and did the mechanic jsut forget to plug it back in?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Cheers!
Ola

I`m not sure but if it is for the airbag get it hooked up.
My wife wrote off our Yaris & without the airbag it would have been far worse.
Although shook up & sore, she walked away without a scratch. Without the bag would have definitely put her in the hospital.

Yes that is what I am worried about. Good that your wife made it OK! I almost hit some elk the other day and I realized that the Yaris is quick to come to a stop.
I thought the light on the instrument panel would come on if the contact was not connected, but perhaps not?

If it was an Air bag sensor. I believe your air bag indicator would flash.
It could be you ambient temperature sensor for the air conditioning.

^thats what it is..

BLH is right, if there is a short or loose connection in the Airbab assembly, your air bag light will be on all the time.

Thank you for that information. I feel better now knowing that it wasn't the contact to the airbag.
