Thanks for the info WASP. But how do you put the window crank back on with the clip? Is there a certain way of doing it or is it just that easy?

It just snaps back on. Be careful removing it. I lost a clip on the passenger side.

There are two separate things going on in that picture. Once you pull the panel out a bit, you pull out on the door handle, and it pops out of the panel, then you twist it and feed it back through the hole that it popped out of. After that, you finish lifting the panel up to free it from the window slot.

Yaris 1.0L GS 2000 Driver's Door Panel Removal

I need to replace a driver's door mirror that a speeding, inexperienced driver smashed when passing in a country lane. Bolts visible but inaccessible without removing the interior door panel.

The information and photos about the newer models are helpful and encouraging, but unfortunately don't match up fully with my Y2000 model. I've removed 2 screws, but everything is still rock solid. Window control unit comes out easily, but no screws underneath it. Do I need to remove the door catch unit or are there screws concealed somewhere else?

Grateful for any advice and help anyone can offer.

Thanks in advance,

Milo

Is there a video (tried Youtube but no luck ) where you can get that window crank off? I've tried it myself many times but my rag just torn into pieces and it was a PITA inserting the rag at first. Just want to see a decent video how they do this in a perfect way.

Just a quick note on removal of the plastic liner: use a safety razor blade or sharp knife to cut through the adhesive...no mess or stretching of the plastic, and liner will stick right back in place like it was never removed.

Cool...
This WON'T work if you leave keys on seat or dashboard, sorry..
... you "Can" if you lock the doors and go out the hatch or the trunk...

You can do this with the car running too...

My driver side window was starting to get harder to roll up and down. This helped out a lot. When I wanted to give it a look. Thanks

Thanks, very clear. What does the cover removed in photo 2 do, and how do you put it back? Mine has a small white square plastic post underneath it.

The white post is a pain in the arse, I've put a new wing mirror on today and had some issues with it.

The cover has a horse shoe shaped recess in the end, when you prize the cover out, the clip may or may not be supposed to come with it, either way do not try to get the white one out on its own, you end up snapping the top part off and then the cover will not sit back in without a little imagination. normally however the white clip goes into the cover then you pop the cover back on to put it back.

Just carry on as this guide shows, when you start to pull the main panel off the clip just pops out with the rest of them.

And thank you to W.A.S.P. this guide was incredibly helpful :)

Excellent pics - how about the rear offside door panel. I need to take it off as the door won't unlock via the remote or inside locking button

The rear is almost identical to the front. There is one screw on the inside door handle, and one on the arm rest door pull (you will see a small (1cm x 1cm) square cover that you pop off to get at the screw). After removing those two, get your fingers under the edge of the door panel and pop the trim clips. all around.
