a little fog light help please....

i been in the process of getting my fog lights in my car and i ordered the esuse kit online but instead of installing the switch the kit came with i got a hold of a factory switch with the foglight switch on it.

my question: i installed the switch, relay(got from oriellys), and the fuse but i still dont have any power in the relay box under the hood. im burned out of ideas and anything kinda thought would probaly be helpful. thanx

oh btw i used: http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/sho...ght=fog+lights (I have a 09 but everything else was correct, colors and locations)

You have one problem , Either the switch is wrong /broken
or your relay is incorrect .
your fog lights will only turn on when park or head lights are turned on .

Check the fuse to see if the switch popped it. Many of the aftermarket fog switches are not compatible with the "use the oem wiring" method without modification to the switch's circuit board.

Totally missed that. In that case, Is the fuse in the correct slot and do you hear the relay click when the headlights are on and you turn the fog switch on?

If the cable is correctly attached to ground and to the harness under the steering wheel.

Then the only two things to check would be the 15A fuse under the steering wheel area, and that the relay is connected in the right place very close to where you checked the fuse.

Then to confirm, I would use a voltmeter/multimeter, and put the red to either of the two pins in the fuse box in the engine bay as pictured, and the black(ground) to the battery ground.

Then flip the switch to the on position on the fog light switch and check the voltmeter to see if power is being sent to those two pins in the engine bay fuse box.

If you see power, then something is wrong with the fog light wires.

If no power, then something is up with your inside wires or fog light switch.

Get back to us with this. Also does the fog light indicator light up on the dashw hen you turn it on?
