Economy Run - Tampa FL

Hey, all. Just getting around to re-registering after the hack.

Thought some of you Central Florida guys might be interested in a casual economy run I'm setting up. It begins and ends in Tampa and is pretty much an all-day affair, about 200 miles. My personal goal is 55 mpg.

If you're interested, the details are here:
http://www.tamparacing.com/forums/gr...6-sign-up.html

Post up here or shoot me an email if you're interested.

Cool. We'd like to have an idea of how many people are coming, but if you don't know until the last minute, that's okay. If the schedule permits, come on out.

Thanks, man. The hack came at a good time for me, I think I needed a break from YW. I'm really peeved that every post I ever made here is gone, though.

Still on. So far only TWO entries are confirmed, both are Yarii. If you're looking for something to do Sunday, come on out.

If you're nice, I may even share my super-secret economy route with you.

I wanted to come, but realized when I checked that it was on a Sunday. Which is my scheduled work day. Sucks major, cause I really would like to get out and do stuff to promote pro-fuel-economy.

Nobody showed for it but me and my buddy Jeff, who was sort of the co-organizer/sponsor. But, he ended up running the event (he hadn't planned to, he was going to run ahead to man check points) in his usual "all or nothing" manner, and totally kicked my ass! He enjoyed the challenge, so it's likely that we'll do another one eventually.

I ended up not even beating my previous 49.9 mpg, only 1.39 times the EPA 36.

Jeff did 41.6 mpg in a car rated for 27 mpg, 1.54 times the EPA. He was trying WAY harder than I was, though.

Might be time to try to do another mileage run. Would be cool if more people would show up!

Yeah why dont we set up something now for like march and build it up so it gets some hype behind it? Its no real big deal if it turns out small. I have been one of the originators of a lot of the tampa meets and its always weak in the beginning but once u get it going word of mouth could bring hundreds.
