Lol, this is such a different car then my old cars. Before now I have only really driven GM's. 1982 Chevy Caprice, 1990 Cutlass Supreme, 1992 Cutlass Supreme, 1992 Cavalier, 1998 Buick LeSabre ( Mom's car), 1995 Cutlass Ciera.

I am going to be getting CAI, lower it, lighten it a bit, and Maybe look into some other HP gains. I am too used to 6 cyclinders.

its the reason we bought toyotas, so we wouldnt have to buy extended warranties. you can still get a refund for your warranty if done though toyota corporate. it may be prorated from the day you purchased it, but some money back is better than nothing. if you got a third party warranty, you may be SOL. and like others have said, if you can refi and change to a 48 month plan, please do so. these lingering payments over 6 years can possibly ruin what should be a joyous purchase. hope this helps a bit..

thanks guys. I can still cancel the extended warranty. I've got 60 days to cancel it. I don't know about the gap insurance though. isn't gap insurance a good idea though? If I total the car then they pay the difference between what the insurance company pays and the total loan amount.. and I can get my mom to refi for me. btw, the total price of the car is $15,305 including delivery and processing.

no probs. plus, about the gap, i think here in CA you may need it to drive the car off the lot, that and/or proof of insurance, especially on a new car with very little down. im not 100% sure though, but keep the gap, lose the extended warranty, and reschedule/refi soon! good luck...

Agreed, keep the gap, I've never had it, but the most I finance is about 50% of the car's value. Since you financed it all, keeping it for only $700 is a good idea. But really, what could go wrong with the car that warrants an extended warranty? These cars are made pretty simply and thus, shouldn't encounter weird problems even into the 100K mile range. Especially mine, which doesn't have power windows or locks to break.

that is a little bit high. I am paying 430/month on my evo 8 which was almost 30,000 before ttl and i got it new in 05. Im now paying 154/month with a base LB Yaris with a 2,500 down. I did not get gap (in California) since they realized that the value of the car is so small anyway that I can just pay for the gap outright if in case the inevitable happens. oh yeah one other thing, both my cars are financed 72 months since i structure my finances differently. i realized that i can put in the same amount in the bank and still gain .5% of my principal in the end of the term of the yaris. the evo however is financed 0% so there is not point in paying it off.

i suggest cancelling the extended warranty. it is therefore a toyota anyway. :) it starts to break down over 100,000 which may be well over your extended warranty.

Ahha my good friend! You got in on the 05 end of the year 0% on Evo deal! Amazing deal huh?! I *almost* bought a Evo 8 RS for invoice and they'd throw in the 0% financing. Slaps head for not doing it.

well I got it all..i know it was dumb..my car out of the door was 16k with a 8% finacing on a 60 month.

Its 324 a month.
My dad will only help me until the 30th month, after that I'm on my own...
What do you suggest other than saving big cash and paying off the remaining in 1 hit? re-finance with lower APR in near future perhaps?

And how do you get that .5%+?

I'm working on a contract here in New Orleans right now, I make 30 bucks an hour tax free, so i'm putting all of my cash towards paying this car off as fast as possible, I'm gonna put some 17 inch rims, tint the windows and be done with it. Once I've found permanent employment, i'll sell this car and buy my Acura TSX. But the Yaris is a cool economy car. Although it doesn't matter to me my note is like 153.00 per month. I'll be making 2 payments of 3250.00 and be done.....
