Went and looked at a yaris Sport!

There's a used 3dr Sport edition at one of my local used dealers, got bored and went and looked at trading my yaris for that one. all black, tinted windows, 5 speed. Full body kit, manual windows, mirrors, and locks. upon offering mine as a trade they swore something was wrong since no one in their right mind would "downgrade" to all basic options( I have all power). what the website didn't say is it was reconstructed, like mine. it got hit in the back passenger fender :( you can see the body work mainly because of buffing swirls. the right taillight doesn't line up just right, and the lift-gate doesn't shut properly because of it. they did an ok job getting the quarter panel to be straight, the inner fender is almost back to normal. The muffler is smashed, the spare tire well is crinkled too..... The frame rails in the back did not seem to be affected, but i want to look again. I'm debating taking the photos i snapped to a body shop and seeing what they quote to do it properly if they can from seeing pics. I will upload pics as soon as photobucket allows me to, lol.

My Yaris is reconstructed from a front end collision, and all-though the guys who repaired it could have done better, to someone who doesn't know what to look for, you'd never know. especially now that my bumper lines up near correctly, lol. If this sport has proper alignment and i can get the remainder of the body fixed for a good price, i may trade it in.

I would swap my stickerbombed pieces. I already got the agreement to return mine to 100% stock. they'd even let me swap my air filter :O

GAH!

I've been looking for a set of 4-spokes for a while and can't find any! If you get it, I'd be interested in buying the wheels off of you, assuming they're straight!!! (Assuming you'd sell them)

They are straight. it passed on the test drive, but one of the tires was a little low so it pulled. If i do the trade, it may take some coaxing as i love 4 spokes. I'd probably sell them after a while, though :)

if i don't work tomorrow I'm going to go back and see about finalizing the deal.

got some pics! i'll omit some of the repeats.

this is the only spot that really worries me. heres the water from the hatch being open lol.

thats about all i got. Thoughts?

apparently my phone deleted the pic of the hatch rubbing on the tailight. if i can straighten that out, i'd be happy with the car.

Water in the trunk = no dice for me. Maybe I'm paranoid, but I always wonder how long it's been in there (e.g. mold) and then you've got to hunt to try and find where it's coming in from.

If you decide not to get it, let me know. I might see if they'll trade those wheels.

The hatch wasn't closed all the way, hence the water. I'm going to have them run water over it with me inside tomorow. :)

I wouldn't think the water was in the trunk a very long time. I had water in my trunk one time per doctors orders, well, it blew out pretty quick..

welp, they wouldn't entertain any other offers except my car and two thousand dollars. i laughed in their faces and left. I know it's a car dealers job to have their way with you, but damn, they really wanted their cake. apparently you have to pay people to downgrade :O I had the salesman pretty set on a straight trade but his boss said no.

oh well. would have been nice. on a side note, all the water in the back was from the rear window washer. the hose was disconnected. the blue coloring should have given it away :p

anyone have a yaris sport they want to sell? lol.

Huh. Well there you go.

Maybe I'll swing by and see if they'll sell the wheels! Then again, maybe not.
