I've run up to the speed limiter plenty of times on our top-secret Nevada test facility (Area 52). I even tried running larger diameter tires from my Bonneville Civic to fool the VSS-but the motor did not have the power to pull the taller gearing/increase MOI from the heavier wheel/tire package. BTW-We ran 211 mph in our Civic on this same test road and eventually ran 227.7 mph out at Bonneville (World's Fastest Honda Civic).

No where near top speed, just having some fun
165mph in a Mecedes Mclaren SLR.....
I dont understand why the driver let go of the gas, it felt so sweeeeeeeet... But then again we were in a cruise with about 25 other cars, so we could not just leave them behind. Sick car, beat my friends v12 bi-turbo S600 modded... Beat a Lambo.... beat all the M3/M5/M6... lol it was a fun ride I must tell you, that car was sick and STIFF! |
