Selling my Yaris - Clutch Replacement Question

Hi guys, I am selling my 2007 Toyota Yaris hatchback with 65k miles. It just passed inspection today and has been running fine but I've been told by a friend that the clutch might be starting to go and the last person who was interested in purchasing my car made the same comment.

I haven't driven another manual in a long time and I'm not very knowledgeable about car repair so I wouldn't be able to tell but I guess I have no choice but to believe them. It certainly doesn't feel very smooth while shifting but I had always thought that's just the way a Yaris was.

I want to be honest about everything in my ad and sell my car as is but I'm getting conflicting answers about the cost of this repair. What would be an appropriate amount of money to cut off the sale price given that the clutch is going?

Here is my ad http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/cto/2684983947.html

Getting rid of it quickly really is worth a lot to me. I could really use the money and it's a major nuisance owning a car where I live. Will price do the trick?

A clutch job is not 1000-1500, more like $600 around here.

Price will always do the trick.

I'll post your ad up on our Facebook page if you like, worked for another guy recently.

Worn clutches typically manifest themselves as slippage. Meaning when you release the clutch the engine revs stay high and gradually decrease as the clutch gains more grip and with lack of power to the wheels until said grip is achieved.

If it were me I wouldn't discount the price on the basis that the clutch might be going unless I was experiencing issues. The new owner could very well get another 15 - 30k out of it.
