Opinion on new front left CV axle
Hi,
the outer boot on my front left CV axle has been ripped for a few months now (just noticed it lately) and I'd like an opinion on what part I should use as a replacement. I plan to replace the entire axle rather than trying to replace only the boot. My Toyota stealership has quoted me $470 CAD + taxes only for the part. After making a few calls I could have the following: - 3rd party new: $69 CAD + taxes - Toyota original, not from Toyota: $128 CAD + taxes I'm comfortable with the $128 part but I'd like to know if this a part where 3rd party is usually fine. Thank you! |

While I'm at it, I understand that I'll need to drain the ATF fluid before I remove the axle as it will leak. I'm at 92K KM and I understand that Toyota Canada recommends to replace the ATF fluid at 96K KM.
Is it enough to just drain/refill the ATF during my axle replacement to consider my 96K KM service "done" or there is more involved for this ATF fluid replacement? It seems that 3 quart should be enough for a drain/refill? Thank you! |

U don't need to drain the loss is minimal when axle replaced u will need to add but if ur do then only makes sense to change it at same time ...think its just under 3 L for auto .
